Things that I have learnt this week: part the first

1) Methane gas hydrate tastes nice spread on digestive biscuits.
2) The Earth Sciences department here has more mass spectrometers per unit area than anywhere else in the world.
3) I am walking around on rocks that dip ~0.5 degrees to the South-East.
4) All the really impressive topography in Britain (Cotswolds, etc) is really ridiculously young (around the 400,000 year mark).

Things that I have learnt today

Fruits Basket ended its run in November 2006 in Japan. The last volume (no. 23) will be released in Japan at some point this year.

I have all 15 volumes currently published. Volumes 16 and 17 are due out in April and August respectively.

For some reason, the fact that I am two-thirds through the series makes me rather sad.

I had not thought that it would end so soon.
